Listen To Her, Notice Her, by Sweet Posionous Memories Subscribe to rss feed for Sweet Posionous Memories

There is a beautiful girl trapped,
a lovely girl unnoticed and slapped.
You race you fist for the punch,
it lands with a sickening crunch.

She hides away in shame,
hoping its all a game,
yet knowing that its not,
while her hearts in a knot.

She looks just like you,
can you notice her?
She listens to you,
can you listen to her?

The wonderful girl you abuse
and, of course, missuse
is now here and here to stay,
she isnt leaving as of today.

That girl crys out for you,
and you alone...just to you.
That dashing young man isnt your son,
hes your daughter and only one.

Notice the way SHE walks,
listen to the way SHE talks.
Leave her room to grow,
let not a punch to throw.

Look at your daughter born a son,
listen to her, notice her.

This poem was written for my best friend Jerry about a year ago...I try not to remember. I wrote it and gave it to him to give to his dad, so his dad would better understand how he felt. The day after I gave it to him he commited suicide by hanging himself...this poem at the top had Dear Daddy as if he had wrote himself pinned to his t-shirt. I hope you all like it even though it still brings me tears.
