a farewell, by twisted bean Subscribe to rss feed for twisted bean

Goodnight, room; goodbye forever
Don’t resent me for not coming back to say hello
It’s a lot less strange when I pretend I don’t remember
you
The days and nights we spent together
Up for hours, contemplating
Perhaps one day you’ll understand
And I know I’m not the only one who has abandoned you
Don’t think it makes you any less important
You were great, thanks for accepting me
Thanks for keeping me dry when it rained
Keeping me safe when I thought the world was ending
There’ll always be a place for you in my thoughts
And I know that I will never feel the same without you
Perhaps one day you wont be so bare
Don’t think that human absence has made you depressing
You’ll be fine, more so than me, I know
Unaffected by events, you’ll never have to bare any burden
greater than some dust, a couple cobwebs, a floor covered in
dirty laundry, or a broken window
Replaced and repaired if damaged
You’ll be cared for
And it’s nothing to get upset about, though insects might
tickle
I’m sorry for throwing up everywhere those times I did
But you never scorned me for it
And you never wanted to teach me any lessons
However with your help I discovered the pleasures and
downfalls of solitude
You were my first
Rest well, old friend; I’ll miss you
