We wonder, what you were to me?
Well... Your lips helped me to breathe
You made me forget about the world
You let me know that I was the girl
With you, my troubles faded away
Next to you is where I longed to stay
Nothing else mattered next to you
Never had to think anything through
I was comfortable with just... us
I knew that you, I could just... trust
We were something like good friends
So then how did all that end?
Neither of us could feel the pain
Whatever we were, could not sustain
The truth is, what you were to me
Was broken. And I knew I couldn't be
Strong enough to play that part
The glue to hold onto your heart
We were so shattered, can't you see?
I was, what you were to me.
