The Sailor, by lance Subscribe to rss feed for lance

I sail my boat through sea after sea
so many wonders of wonders ive seen
nantucket is my native home
seems its years since i've been gone

a sailor am i like my father before
never afraid to weather the storm
the sea is lonely so many still say
to honor my father i make my own way

sails and wind are my only friends
i will see this journey to its end
a bounty catch i will bring home to thee
a bountyful wonder your eyes to see

i'm just a man who shall sail so free
i have the spirit of my father in me
brave and strong i'm ever so proud
to stand on the mantle laid in a shroud

sail on they say sail on
come back to us safe and free.....someday
