Love is a Mugger, by Leslie Thomson Subscribe to rss feed for Leslie Thomson

Love is a mugger
Love is a thief
Robbing you suddenly
And it gives no relief

With Robin Hood wisdom
Love takes from all;
Brings down the mighty,
And the lowly makes tall.

Love creeps up on you,
And attacks from behind;
Taking all your perceptions
And robbing you blind.

Bolt up your doors,
Lock your house up tight;
It won’t deter love
Breaking in during the night.

You will soon give in,
Ignore all the alarms,
When love steals your heart,
Armed with all its charms.

You will have no defence,
When it comes for its haul.
For when love holds you up,
You will give it your all.
