Good Intentions, by StarFaerie Subscribe to rss feed for StarFaerie

They say the road to Hell
Is paved with good intentions
Golden bricks of 'meaning well'
Slick stones of false intentions

As we walk the winding path
Grave-digging spades rest on shoulders
Misunderstanding leads to wrath
Spades to blades, leaves us colder

There I see a lonesome pair
"I didn't mean to break your heart"
He whispers into heavy air
Haunted by memory, thus he departs

"One more for my moaning hordes!"
The Devil cries, triumphant
Sews the seed, hands out the swords
Reaps regretful souls abundant

Is there no hope for mortal Light?
I cannot help but ask
Where right is wrong and wrong is right
It seems a pointless task

They say the road to Hell
Is paved with good intentions
And we're just travellers who slipped and fell
Down stairs of our own invention
