Safe and Alone, by Butterfly Warrior Subscribe to rss feed for Butterfly Warrior

Everywhere I look I see people,
they're happy and cheerful,
amongst those who embrace the light linger those,
those who are safe and forever alone.

I'm one of these people.
I keep to myself,
I barely talk and never play,
I stay safe from harmed feelings,
I'm alone as well.

I'm alone because I refuse to be with these people.
They are not like me,
they'll never understand my thoughts,
they stick to their stereotypes and cliches,
i write my poems.

I remain safe and alone.
They can't hurt me,
they'll never hurt me,
alone I stay and forever be that way,
because I'm safe but alas I'm alone.
