Did you hear about that couple
With two rich histories, hand in hand, all colourful?
When she looks longingly at him,
She’s secretly resurrecting her favourite dream

His hand always finds her hair;
He holds each strand like the veins of her heart.
She’s become a junkie to his skin when it’s bare,
Driving her insane when they’re apart.

There are days when colours fade,
When Magenta looks like the pale Pink
Of a baby elephant’s smile in the shade.
Those days have made them pay.

Insecurities hammer at the piggy bank
Of their accumulated hopes and dreams.
Alas, they pick up their pennies and make a stack.
Hardship cannot rob what’s deep and true inside.

There’s a love that’s shared between the two;
It’s like white Lillies in a darkened room,
Even in dim light, it blossoms – beautiful and new.
How could anything else ever do?
