Prisoner Of Life, by deep_emotions Subscribe to rss feed for deep_emotions

I'm a prisoner of my own life.
A slave at the mercy of my own whim.

My will drags me forward,
Like a prisoner in chains.
Marching along,
Connected by the wrists.

The bars of my cell,
Consist of what the future holds.
My testing goals,
And the path to take,
To achieve success.
Keeping me caged,
For success.

The guards stand to attention,
Enforcing the rules.
The fine line rules.
That is needed to succeed.

The mile is the path of death,
To my own death.
Letting go of my own free will,
Surrendering it to death.
and accepting the terms and conditions,
Of success.

I'm a prisoner of my own life.
A slave at the mercy of my own whim.

I am now locking myself away to be within this prison. Beautiful, such a good piece, I read it a few times.
