Wooden planks galore,
Surrounding limbs from down under.
Protecting things within,
Keeping darkness out.
I float around inside,
Bouncing off of my peers.
Molecules of social status,
Living for the stratification.
Congenial layers of murk,
Coming to settle on the surface.
Brush away the lies,
I'm still locked up inside.
Maybe I want to stay,
The confines feel safe to me.
There's no telling what awaits,
Lurking just beyond the openings.
Wanting to grab me,
And use me for sadistic games.
To have me cover their mistakes,
Make up for the knowledge they lack.
No, I do like the confines.
The wooden planks protecting me.
