Slave to the Devil, by Nightshade Subscribe to rss feed for Nightshade

The demon wakes inside of me,
it's whispers cold and ark,
an angel of death surrounds me,
and clothes me in the dark.

My old life's behind me,
no memories cloud my thoughts,
my heart beats unsteadily,
my life was sold and bought.

My death angel comforts me,
demons call me home,
my mind is gone,
I'm left to rot,
I'm the Devil's own,

He's not a kind being,
He makes me judge sins,
I sneak people past fire,
brimstone hides their skin,

I let innocent run,
before the portal's gone,
past the Hell they know,
Heaven's door glows.

I freed damned mortals,
a Devil's greatest sin.

He whispers threats to me,
but we know it's no use,
I'm trapped here for eternity,
I already strung my noose.

He makes me claim mortals,
the death scythe mine to bear.
I'm the Grim Reaper now.

My job's no longer bad,
I feel no emotion now,
memories surround me,
but all covered by clouds.

I capture lost souls,
I release them from pain,
Misjudged sins I send to Heaven's gates,
those damned I'm sorry for,
I can't help them any more,
I'm the Slave to the Devil.

This job bears a burden,
I'm evil and insane,
the heat unbearable,

I welcome the bells of death,
a death angel brings them home.
I swing my scythe and end,
a life that was cold.

My friend is Death Angel,
my employer Satan,
my blood bound to evil,
my soul somehow pure,
yet the divine leaves me here.

I'm a Slave to the Devil,
yet am I really good?
