A Hero Without A Cape, by Nightshade Subscribe to rss feed for Nightshade

Today I wore my cape with pride,
felt the fabric touch my elbows,
as it waved in the wind.

My cape is like a flag,
it symbolizes justice,
yet justice isn't fair.

I fight against my villains,
yet I don't always win,
my cape keeps on flying,
in hopeless wind.

One day evil snatched my cape,
they tore it from my shoulders,
not a sound I made at those whose good was smouldered.
What was once justice is now an opponent,
my heroic cape was stolen.

A hero without a cape,
yeah, I know it's pointless.
