Back & Forth, by Roderick Veach Subscribe to rss feed for Roderick Veach

back and forth
be careful son
you don't know what could be done
to you
what they
can do

my eyes are bleeding
I'm on the floor
I find no meaning
anymore

so guard your heart like a fortress door
and keep a watchful eye on anyone who plays a part
and save these letters I write you boy
cause someday you might wish you had more than the thoughts
you hold

back and forth
a life time gone
wasted on the ones you thought
loved you
it wasn't true

we carved our letters
we said our vows
none of that
matters now

so guard your heart like a fortress door
and keep a watchful eye on anyone who plays a part
and save these letters I write you boy
cause someday you might wish you had more
 than the thoughts you hold

Back and forth
until she comes
the only person you can trust
with you
who you are
in truth

so just be patient
unlike me
and you might end up
where you're meant to be

so until then guard your heart like a fortress door
and keep a watchful eye on anyone who plays a part
and save these letters I write you boy
cause someday you might wish you had more
 than the thoughts you hold
