You and Your Silence, by Shauna DesJardins Subscribe to rss feed for Shauna DesJardins

Trying to ignore my breaking heart
Pushing my sad thoughts aside
Yearning for you to stay
Though all odds say you won't

Crumbling to ashes, my heart it aches
Guarded I was, but I let my walls fall
My heart opened up, I allowed it to love
I fear that was a mistake, my soul continues to break

Exposed is my heart, waiting for your next words
Will they shatter? Will they break?
Will they mend the constant ache?
Your silence it kills, cuts me deep down.

That feeling, it's back
That one of regret
I love you, I do
Please don't rip my heart in two

To say I didn't trust you
Would not be true
To say I never loved you
Would be a lie

Prove me wrong, show me you care
Don't leave me here in this ice cold air
If you love me, you truly do,
Don't leave me here broken in two.
