Ode To My Brother And I, by Shauna DesJardins Subscribe to rss feed for Shauna DesJardins

Here is my brother with a 49ers hat.
Here is me dressed as a lion.
A brotherly kiss that would be it's last,
For later that year, he will pass.

Here is a stairway,
Here is a rail.
Here are two people with crystal blue eyes.
One is happy, one is dieing inside.

Here is my brother, black shirt, black hair.
Here is me, golden hair, gold lion costume.
Here is Chris.
Here is Shauna.

We are at home.
Can't you tell?
The carpet is stained,
Oh well.

Here is our joyous time before trick-or-treating.
Here is one of our happy memories.
They say a picture's worth one thousand words,
But what about three? "I love you"

I'd rather say those
Then "Here' look at this".
But alas, I can't.
So here is our memory of joy and happiness,

Locked forever, away in my heart.
