Personified Chaos, by Jezebel Subscribe to rss feed for Jezebel

Change never comes so easy
to a planet so ancient and old.
To believe the tiny inhabitants,
could change their ancient ways?

We are beings of chaos, not
order. Only yang. Missing
his twin brother. No order,
only chaos at our hands.

We focus on stopping child killers
turn our backs on the used and abused
no help for the users, no help
for the disliked needy.

Politicians get fat wallets to do
nothing, meanwhile
blood spatters the streets of
L.A., Chicago, New York.

Unwanted children left in alleys,
deadly home-done abortions.
Millions will be beaten and used,
lost and thrown away. Broken.

Children are coerced
to join gangs.
Children are forced
to be soldiers.

Join the army at eighteen!
Glory and honor bestowed
on you for the price
of your fragile sanity!

Politicians pick their
fights, start their wars.
The young soldiers can't
recover, doomed forever.

One lonely house down the street
the screaming starts
at 5 o'clock sharp.
Neighbors turn their backs.

The second grade boy
comes to class, avoids
the teacher's eye contact.
The bruises are visible.

You think that'll change?
When teens are shot
because dad's a
drug lord?

You want to make the world
a better place?
Defy human nature,
redefine "sin"?

Murder, theft, lies,
rape, abuse, adultery,
drugs, sex, alcohol;
our chaos, our sins.

You want us to change
when you're as human
as us. When chaos is
ensconced in your blood.

Two siblings a block away
hold each other in fright.
Mom says everything's alright,
Daddy's just mad.

Two more blocks away,
a raging wife abuses her man.
He's got no one. They all laugh,
call him weak.

AIDS is rampant in Africa
rape in the U.S. and India.
Abuse is everywhere
WE are everywhere.

The victims rise and speak,
but are shamed because of what
their abusers have done to them,
rather than shame the abuser.

Women can't wear skirts,
drink,
walk alone at night
or they're "asking for it".

Men can't cry
gays can't marry.
Love's not allowed--
it's got limits.

You've got ink or face metal?
Punk!
You like gaming?
Nerd.

All societies are twisted,
bent, ruined, decimated.
No order, only chaos.
Irreparable.

7 billion people
1 billion women will be
raped or beaten
1 out of 7.

7 billion people to
band and change
together?
What a joke!

Too late for humanity,
we're trapped, caught
in the web of an
ongoing Holocaust.

We're committed to
the genocide of our-
selves. No order,
only chaos.

We won't change.
We're humans, sworn
to uphold the never
ending chaos of us.

At last Ive found a poem that is not about the author. I hope that your reflections turn out to be wrong but I, like you, think they are likely to be right.
