Web Of Trust, by Don't build lies on ice cubes. Subscribe to rss feed for Don't build lies on ice cubes.

Tell me more she said with a smile
As I opened up my mind
Her eyes were soft with sincerity
And her face seemed genuinely kind

Well thats one face that she formed
A layer to hide the truth
Intuition was on my side again
And all I needed was proof

How dare you play tricks on me
And think that I wont know
And that web of trust you carefully weaved
Well its flaws are beginning to show

He says this and she says that
Do you think I really care
You made me doubt my own thoughts
And you think that that is fair?

What a position you've landed in
Play me off like a worthless pawn
Throw away all the trust we built
All the things that you had sworn

And so another falls from my esteem
Although she willingly leapt
Carelessly throwing spear after spear
Well her attempts appear inept

And what has she said behind my back
To those she could manipulate?
Did she laugh with a gleeful smile
As their love morphed into hate?

Putting others down wont hide the fact
That she herself is lost
She's had her fun at my expense
But she didnt bargain on the cost

And I refuse to be like her
I refuse to walk that line
I wont stab my friends in the back
And I wont take what is not mine

And its not just me under attack
All memories of her past
Disintergrating into riddiculed ash
As she burns up her old life fast

Im sorry I wasnt good enough
That for me she couldnt stay true
Im sorry that I misplaced my trust
Im sorry I place it in you
