It's Hard sometimes, being a teenager, by Eliza Subscribe to rss feed for Eliza

It’s hard sometimes, being a teenager.
The world sees you as something you’re not, and all the
while, you can’t even figure out yourself.
They judge you on your clothes, and how you act.
One toe out of line, and now you’re the “trouble
maker”.
It’s hard sometimes, being a teenager.

Struggling to find your place in the world.
Looking left, looking right, seeing the good kids and the
bad kids and wondering,
Where do I belong in all this?
Wanting your space, wanting respect,
Wanting the world to see you for you.
It’s hard sometimes, being a teenager.

They tell you how to think, what to wear, how to act and
tell you your nothing if not that.
And then they claim you’re fake and unreal for following
their rules.
It’s hard sometimes, being a teenager.

No one thinks you’re you,
It’s just your hormones or maybe she’s on her, you know
You get pushed around and thrown aside, but that’s ok
because
“You’re just a teenager”
They say being a teen is phase which they “understand”
It’s hard sometimes, being a teenager
