dearest friend
you took my heart
in your hands,
held it high
felt it glow,
across the lands.
shedding dull,
but beating still
soft pink hues,
for a while,
felt no pain,
paid no dues.
then for some reason,
you let it fall
you let it smash,
and the red spilled,
the pain multiplied,
by the resounding crash.
but dearest friend,
then you turned,
and held my tight,
you took your time,
and down you bend
helping to clean
up the spilled light.
and for a while,
i felt warm,
even without the other there,
he who meant everything,
he who taught me,
to care.
but i had you,
and you helped
me to get over,
and to get through,
and then suddenly,
I lost you too.
and now i am friendless,
heartless,
shaded and jaded,
without my eerie red glow.
without you to hold
me up high,
i feel myself start to fall,
and wonder,
were you worth it,
at all?
you let something so tiny,
insignificant,
so small,
ruin what we were.
it was you,
dearest friend,
who i cherished,
you were the love i never had.
so my heart was torn,
and broken form my body,
and then i turned,
to you,
and you helped me over,
and through,
you did what you had to do,
but it was too much,
wasn't it?
and so now,
you rip away our friendship,
leaving me alone,
and wondering where,
to go and why?
cause it doesn't matter now,
i've fallen from my
nest upon the sky.

I Love this poem. It almost sounds to me like it could have been written about me and my friend Garrett. You're so skilled. You lucky girl! :-]
