Powerful Words., by D. Joy Subscribe to rss feed for D. Joy

Powerful words from an ordinary person lay stagnant in the
air.
I find truth in our despair.
You love me but you don’t care.

These are all things I cannot change.
Truths that persist to remain.
It’s like getting wet in the rain.
Or crying from pain.
Or sitting in an office and thinking your life is mundane.

Why is this happening?
Should I not complain?
How do I go about making change?

How to I make you love me?
How do I make you stay?
How do I make tomorrow a better day?

Questions I cannot answer.
Thoughts I cannot forget.
Feelings that will never be addressed.

Powerful words from an ordinary person lay stagnant in the
air.
The truth is, no one cares.
They won’t raise the minimum wage.
Or let someone with talent be on front page.
Or let my people out of their cage.
Or stop killing my friends from pure rage.

So I’ll speak my words prophetically like a sage.
Though they will never leave this page.
