Absolute paradise., by Robin Goodwin Subscribe to rss feed for Robin Goodwin

The rolling white grass plains
Winding rivers along the valley floors.
Stone runs scattered on the hills above
The wild life that flock along the shores.

Pristine white sand beaches stretching for miles
The floating kelp beds and salty white froth.
Sea lions and penguins swim along the shore lines
There is no other place like it on earth.

The air so clean free from industrial pollution
The sky is so blue as is the sea too.
Fresh drinking water from bubbling springs
So much to see so much to do.

Here you see up close the nature at work
Where wild life can be seen in every direction.
Just wide open spaces nothing between
To the visitor it is an hypnotic attraction.

The magical sunrises most every morning
The fiery red sky in the evening sunset.
Fluffy white clouds that pass high in the sky
This is an experience you will never forget.

It is hard to believe that anything happens
In this unspoilt and beautiful place.
But people do live here for some it’s their home
Falkland islanders or Kelpers as may be the case.

The town of port Stanley away to the north east
Is home to the Kelpers who live here by choice.
The rest are all scattered along the sea shores
There Farmers and guardians of the wildlife success.

They have lived on this land so wild and so free
For two hundred and fifty years or more.
Those who came here were spell bound like you
They decided to settle build their homes on the shore.

It is hard to describe that feeling of beauty
Unless you are able to stand here and see.
The peace and tranquillity a moment in time
The Falklands my home for eternity.
