Writing Poetry
My monitor's staring at me
Waiting for the tap of a key
To make marks on it's face
Instead of staring in space
Oh what is the matter with me?

My brain is a blank. Don't you see?
I just can't hit any old Key
I am trying to rhyme
But I can't think on a dime
Monitor take over for me

Okay I'll link up with keyboard
But you really might be floored
At the poem I'll write for you
You may not even construe
At least we will not be bored

Monitor and keyboard are typing
And my brow I begin wiping
For what I am reading on screen
Those words are very obscene
Whose words are those you're swiping?

Those words didn't come from my brain
Typing like this you must refrain
Where have you been oh monitor dear
For words like those where did you hear?
I now ask you to abstain

Now I will take over for you
But what I'll write I have no clue
I am in total shock
Of you I have to take stock
Your cleaning is well over due

Your vocabulary has nasty words
Spoken mostly by nerds
I will not stand for that here
We are decent monitor dear
I am shocked at what I have heard

But mistress the words are not mine
It's the tower whose out of line
You had him in the shop
And he learned words from a cop
So please don't at me whine

I'm sorry oh monitor dear
You have nothing at all to fear
I will deal with the tower
For, yes, I have the power
To my rules he will adhere

Tower, you must stop, my dear
Using words unpleasant to hear
Tell me you understand
For this is my command
Yes! Bad words will disappear

Now to write down my creation
After all that frustration
I doubt that I can think
Yup, I'm beginning to sink
A cleared mind will be my salvation.
