Starry Hours, by Cutie In A Death Cab Subscribe to rss feed for Cutie In A Death Cab

i lie awake at starry hours
sparkling droplets, dreamy showers
falling down and blanketing me
it feels so good, it's hard to breathe

i think of you, and then i smile
this keeps me happy for awhile
eyes are windows to the soul
and when i look into yours, i feel so whole

drenched in overwhelming dreams
and warmed by those bright sun beams
the icy layer suffocating my heart
melts away, and falls apart

music notes dance in the air
no feeling could ever compare
i imagine myself on the stage
finally free of this emotional cage

i'm left with a satisfaction
and a pleasant distraction
that keeps me on a cloud so high
i begin to wonder why oh why?

why did i ever grab for things
that only kept me attached to strings?
when i could've have this autonomy
and never have had to feel guilty

i'd like to always remember this
when i fall into the abyss
i'd like to live my fantasy
If only i could be so lucky
