Remnants of a Broken Picture, by Cutie In A Death Cab Subscribe to rss feed for Cutie In A Death Cab

Our puzzle always had pieces missing
Though somehow I just kept on wishing
Hoping someday we'd be whole
Time passed by and paid it's toll

We're left with remnants of a broken picture
Separate solids that were once a mixture
Gaps and holes, now everywhere
A sundered family, this isn't fair

My absence leaves yet another rift
It seems you're filling it rather quick
Swiftly moving right along
And now I feel that I don't belong

My piece of the puzzle is lost somewhere
And you don't seem to even care
You've found another to take it's place
Mine's become a form of waste

Soon you'll have what i always wanted
It will leave me forever taunted
Enjoy your newfound happiness
Enjoy this fresh eternal bliss

I really like this one. You do such a great job with extended metaphors in your poetry!
