A Shadow In The Darkness, by No Child Is Innocent Once Born Subscribe to rss feed for No Child Is Innocent Once Born

A shadow in the darkness.
The dryness in some glue.
I am an outsider, an outcast,
I am invisible to you.

I am something that is nothing,
A memory forgot.
You take my heart and soul from me,
And throw them, let them rot.

You say I hurt you, that is true,
But while you say that, you hurt me.
I deserve the irrespect you give,
But I don't deserve the hurt, you see?

We were friends, but not we're not.
You think I'm out to hurt you, don't you?
Well, believe me, kid,
To hurt you would never do.

So why do I still do it, you ask?
I don't know why, the truth to tell.
But what I say and what I mean,
Are as different as Heaven and Hell.

What I say may hurt you,
But what I mean may not.
But still you take my heart and soul from me,
And leave them outside to rot.

And what I mean is different,
But I sometimes say it wrong.
And yet you still don't understand my mentality,
And you've been friends with me for so long.

But why do you still bother,
To tell me how you feel,
If all you think I do,
Is lie and cheat and steal?

If you really want to know how I feel,
Just look around and see.
The only safe way I can express myself,
Is to write some poetry.

I daren't tell a friend or family member,
In case I say it wrong.
Can you see the torment that you've done to me,
It's been happening for so long?

So you just tell me how you feel,
And don't ask me time and again.
But one day, you'll want to know what I feel,
But I will stay 'til then:

A shadow in the darkness.
The dryness in some glue.
I am an outsider, an outcast,
I am invisible to you.

I am something that is nothing,
A memory forgot.
You take my heart and soul from me,
And throw them, let them rot.
