Ghost Of A Preacher, by No Child Is Innocent Once Born Subscribe to rss feed for No Child Is Innocent Once Born

when the church is closed,
the people gone,
the ghost of a preacher lingers on,
it has no feeling as it moves
it has an empty head
as it floats through walls
watches spiders crawl
it wishes it wasnt dead.
it sits on tombstones
if it could it would cry
silently wondering how it happened
how could he have died
as the sun comes up
his duty is paid
and as the bells ring
he starts to fade..
