Remnant of Christmas, by rory t Subscribe to rss feed for rory t

Candles shine around the room
But nothing can lift the terrible gloom
Looking around, the fire was roaring
With the distant sound of Grandpa snoring
The table was cleared of all the clutter
But all around was a silent mutter
All i wanted was something to happen
The tap kept dripping in a regular pattern
A slight mist hovered around
And a small trace of light could be found
A brittle chill in a draught from the door
Reminded me of a christmas i'd had once before.

Emotions beautifully draped over a moment. Good poem.
