The spoken words
The uneasy rhetoric
The man has taken on
The study of words
He will never say
Colder than
Bolder than
He once was.

The golden days
The simple telltale
The man has forgiven one
The words of hers
He will never hear
Older than
Told her then
He won't repeat.

The man is me
The words are mine
My heart builds up,
My thoughts decline
The vow I broke
Was never sworn
The burden cast
Was never worn
