When I Was Walking, by Austin Hoehn Subscribe to rss feed for Austin Hoehn

I am walking home from school
and thinking to myself.
how wonderful it is
for the sunshine on my face
the cool light breeze at my back.
the birds singing and flying above me
and people outside working around me,
but then when I say to myself that's why I love this month
January, It's January?
the world is changing so fast and rapidly
that we don't even barely think when it
gets to be 60 degrees.
it doesn't even faze us
that this is a sure sign of trouble
when...
the sun is blazing
and the earth is warming,
the invisible shield fading,
the population is growing
the enviroment is forever
showing
trees getting sparse
carbon monoxide
getting harsh,
but we just don't see it
it is not visible with the eye
nothing you can hear
nothing that the five senses
can come near.
