Nevermore, by MrsPeterson Subscribe to rss feed for MrsPeterson

i lay here
watching over the world
i see the sky
and a sea of rooftops
i try to stand
to weak
i try to sit up
to many drugs
i try to speak your name
but
useless
you are not here
to hear it
so
i lay here
watching over the world
from my window
atop the 8th floor
of the last room
i'll ever occupy
my heaven
my hell
my end is near
here in this bed
i am still breathing
but i'm not longer living
i am lost
i am flying away
with the birds
i can fly so high
but my wings are clipped
i am pinned
i am trapped
even if i get out
i am still stuck
i will never fly
not like them
so i sit
and i watch
over the world
i can see the sky
and a sea of rooftops
but as the sun goes under
i still don't see you
i would speak your name
but
useless
you are not here
to hear it
you are not here
to help me fly
so
goodbye
into the night
i shall fly no more
goodnight
for tomorrow
is nevermore
