**This poem was written for english class based on the
painting of "Ophelia" by John Everett Millais. I have no
previous knowledge of the shakespear story/play that she's
in really.. so i had no idea what to write about but i
thought the painting was absolutely facinating.. i wish i
could attatch the picture of the painting but sadly i
cannot. if you want to look for it just go to google search
and look up "Ophelia" and you'll find it. it's stunning!**

slipping into eternal rest, i lay.
unwillingly, life clings to my body
and to this watery resting place.
still and silent; a blank expression painted to my face.
as death consumes me, i've never felt so safe.

my breath-taking surroundings;
a seccluded, untouched place.
picked specifically to ease these final moments,
to erase my memory of pain and hate.

the water engulfs me, so warm,
as my body grows increasinly cold.
more satisfying than any amount of gold
he could have ever given me..
i slowly release my string of flowers, as well as life;
a metaphoric release of vice.
ironically, this grave seems to hold me just right.

in the midst of this blossoming world
i put an end to the suffering of this heart-broken girl.
all i can see or feel is death,
despite where my grave has been set.

death blooming in these flowers,
death uncurling in these leaves,
breathing it in as it's blowing through these reeds,
beckoning the end, the only escape i can see.
a promise of eternal comfort..
to end my heartbreak and grief.

love michelle.
