Gazing off into the night
Basking in the silence
And yet there is no silence
The howling of the atmosphere
As if they meant not to be heard
Yet still attainable to my ears
The sky is black
Yet the silhouette of the trees still manage to be blacker
The sweet smell of the night
A mix of moisture, trees, grass, emptiness
All that is
And in this night I wonder
Wonder if this special being I was so destined to acompany
Witnesses this night
At this such time
Wondering if he who sees, hears, smells, feels
Is mine, destined to be
Or if that of which I witness and stands alone
Is it that I am destined for no one?
Or is no one destined for me?
Am I the one someone dreams of tonight?
As they gaze at the endless stars
Am I the kind they wish to have?
To embrace
As they still gaze out into the forever night
Who is this being... where is this being?
Is there such a being?
Or just a figment I have created
A character inspired by the night
Mending my stars of endless sorrow to comfort an empty sky
