While The Guards Slept, by memiors of a slave Subscribe to rss feed for memiors of a slave

A chance meeting and exchanging of words
A simple tease turns to friendship
Learning about another world
Down deep a spark ignites
A well guarded wall cracks

The heart begins to softly glow
Time spent well worth weight
Feeling an incredible heart
Seeing a beautiful soul
A Well guarded wall begins to crumble

Love begins to bloom with each seed of time
Finally a gaze shared between brown and blue
Feelings strengthen between two
In a whisper of time complete bliss
A Well guarded wall dissipates like grains of sand

A lifetime is never long enough before time of departure
Overwhelmed emotions brings a wind of change
Distance of a million miles cannot compare to a distant
heart
Will the whimper of a heart crying out ever be heard
Before the guards wake and begin to rebuild

I like this poem has an interesting theme and a great way of putting it it remids me of when kids treat me nice to get their own way
