Shadow, by Kalie Subscribe to rss feed for Kalie

No face
No eyes
No breath
No life
Tears come
In streams
Down cheeks
Darkness, no light
No one looks at
The faceless being
They pass without a glance
She's nothing to them
Insignificant to everyone,
Everything.
A shadow
A looming annoyance
To the light.
A darkness that
No one wants to see.
Constantly belittled,
No voice, no opinions.
Stupidity spews from the mouth
While glistening intelligence
Flows out of the light.
She's beautiful
With a disgusting shadow
She's the light
The other, a shadow
Of ugliness and insignificance
No personality
Owned by the light,
Prisoner to it.
Shadows can't break free
To become her own light
Instead trapped, imprisoned
Stuck to one
Darkness has only feelings of
Sadness, loss
Defeated
Killed
No spirit
No eyes
No face
No breath
No life
Pain, angish, and tears
An everyday feeling
Darkness grows in the
Eyes that are open
They are blind to the anguish
One simple statement
Kills her
Stomach drops
Tears jump to the surface
They're held inside until
The shadow slinks back
Into the darkness
Sobs break the eternal silence
She falls into
A dreamless sleep
Only to awake
Into complete darkness
