The Swing, by Sunshine24 Subscribe to rss feed for Sunshine24

It was she,
Who occupied the swing next to mine.
The void in my life.
Lost piece of a puzzle.

It was she,
Who declared us companions,
The minute we met
She knew.

My swing gathered speed,
Took flight.
Hers glided up to
Realms I’d only been alone.

We rocketed higher, higher
Our swings swooped in descent,
In unison,
As one.

The light behind my smile
The bounce in my step,
The warmth in my eyes,
The courage of my soul

Never again did I swing alone
She was always by my side
With her warm brown eyes and sunny smile
She showed me that she cared.

It was she,
My first best friend,
Who swung with me to forever.
Our feet never touched the ground.
