And still I smile (2), by *****Junior Walker***** Subscribe to rss feed for *****Junior Walker*****

The struggle started
As soon
As I left the womb
And it won’t stop until
I’m in the ground,
But I still manage to smile
Cause I’m thankful I’m
Still living.
How many more funerals do
I have to go to,
How many more sirens
Will I hear tomorrow?
Its getting harder
And harder to find
A family still together,
And still I smile
Because while I’m still alive
There’s still hope.
And don’t tell me turn
The other cheek
Cause that’s the one
That I got boxed in last week.
The smile is the sign that
My heart hasn’t turned cold
A Babies cries still mean something,
And to my brother in prison
See you when you get out,
If not, when they shut me in.
One thing for sure, when
when you see me I’ll be smiling;
Smiling through all the pain,
Smiling through all the stress,
And while you’re reading this know,
Right now I’m smiling.
