I can’t believe it,
Marvin Gaye’s long gone
And I still don’t know
“What’s going on”

Beef
With no expiry date
And I’m just
Trying to survive through the crime rate

Young bodies
Being disposed of
And girls getting dealt with
With no love

It’s really a shame
What they go through
Because of the stupid stuff
That we men do

And if you are what you eat
I guess those African kids are nothing,
Why are the government spending billions
On space travel when there’s people down here starving.

Governments doing stupid stuff with money
Instead of a war on poverty
They got a war on terror
So they can fill up Shell, Exxon, Mobil and BP

And let’s talk about you
Just think of the past year or two
All the nonsense you’ve been through
A good time long overdue

And so I wonder to myself
From dusk till dawn
From dawn to dusk
“What’s going on”

Dedicated to the memory of Marvin Gaye

Oh I remember Marvin Gaye. But I really like the content of this, your poem. You have touched on many important factors of life today, and as we all have noticed "what's going on" ...Gr8 work here in your poem!
