Summer Freedom, by bedazzled Subscribe to rss feed for bedazzled

The sun is calling to me,
Go outside and play,
Don't wrap yourself in regret today,
The waves are crashing,
Faces all smiles,
Won't you come out and forget for a while?

Lie on the beach and dream it away,
Forget about misery just for today,
The taste of salt water, the laugh of a friend,
It's summer and somehow I'm happy again,

Flirting and grinning,
White teeth in brown face,
Come outside and find that fantasy place,
The seagulls are calling,
They're gliding so free,
My heart glides too as the pain starts to ease,

Lie on your towel and read a good book,
Forget about memories don't even look,
The feel of cool breeze, a shell on the beach,
It's summer and happiness is within my reach,

I don't know how it does it,
Summer peels the layers away,
It heals the darkness inside me,
Lightness fills me each day,
Nothing seems to go wrong,
It's weeks of freedom and bliss,
And when the winter returns,
It's the feeling I miss,

So thankyou summer,
Thankyou bright sun,
I'll still remember when you've come and gone,
Thanks for the confidence,
Thanks for these memories,
Thanks for the way you make me so free.
