upon her pedestal, by littlemisssunshine
|
how can she be so tender?
if no one can reach her
up so high on her pedestal
so high all alone.
how can she be so fragile?
how come momma'
it looks like she might just slip
see momma she's rocking back in forth like that
teasing her fate
maybe they cut her down
she might just fall from her cloud
and choke on her halo
a noose fit for one of such grace
see momma.
she fell.
fallen from her grace.
let's pluck the feathers from her back and breast
and crown her our god
spun from thorns of black and cobwebs of silver twine
tell me momma
tell me momma how come she's so tender
if no one can reach her
so high and mighty upon her throne of shit

I think that this poem could be really great without the profanity. |
