commuters get on
ride for awhile
get off on the
public transit.
their wives are due home
pay their fares
wave goodbye
to a girl not theirs
as she cuts across
the back lawns.
sometimes,
it really is better
to take a bus
home in the afternoon.
they are a connection
a drop off point
another stop in the line...
that we call life.
and the wives know nothing
yet
of their use of the
Public Transit.
