Aim to Please, by Markuz
|
look what posers i've deemed as friends
so believably true to their words
oh so different
the way that they show how they care
but aren't there when i just want some time
so platonic i was but it wasnt enough
here is there and its all just the same
dont complain they can hear but clearly not see
not for me, not for just someone else
but then why so needy, and why so much trust
did i think it would be different
did i think it was that easy
could i honestly believe
in everything they say to me
oh, how stupid to invest so much
and in so little time
one should never pass acquaintence
straight to friendship, its a lie
cuz in the end its all one-sided
broken thoughts
you're not invited
but you're all still friends
"i'll see you around"
even in deafening roar
its the sweetest sound
and you just never get it
those damn pretty words
acceptance shines white
just believe what you've heard
isnt it easy? just keep pretending
but dont be surprised
when these friendships are ending
cuz you knew it was coming
forseen in a dream
in your daydream
your life
in your lie
dont you see
in the end
i just aim to please
