In The Stillness, by Lunaria

In The Stillness
In the stillness of dawn
I sit with my night clothes on
Looking out in a daze
At the cob-webbed colored haze
My town drank the early morning sun
Before my morning chores were done
While I sat a long time in reverie
Visiting in my mind every
Place I had ever been in life
Before I had become a wife
Before even I was born
Now there's a time that I mourn
The womb. A dark and lonely place
Where I could see no ones face
I could only hear muffled voices
And I had not any choices
I have not moved from my spot
Remembering all that I forgot
As the sun set o'er my town
I lay my old weary head down
Good night.

Wow! This is an awesome poem... haunting and wrought with emotions! |
