Baltic Street, by ♥ Break The Tradition Subscribe to rss feed for <i><b> ♥ Break The Tradition

She was walking on the sidewalk on Baltic Street,
destination unknown to her. The snow was crunching slightly
beneath her as more began to fall from the sky. Pine trees
lining the street made it a beautiful sight, but she didn't
notice with the tears lining her face.

It had been a long night of yelling, threats, insults, and
pain, but still nothing could compare to the few insults she
got from the one man she loved.

Kyle had been there for her everyday of her life, even as
children everyone knew they would end up together. It was
just the way things were supposed to be.

Many people said soul mates. She said it was luck. Soul
mates wasn't true in her life. It just wasn't possible.

And here she was proving all of them wrong. Walking down the
street in hopes of clearing her mind.

She knew they would all be inside right now. Her mother and
father would be full of guilt, but not regret. No they never
regreted anything.

Her sisters would feel pity toward her. They were who
started this whole thing.

Her brother would pretend nothing was wrong. That she would
be back home in a few hours and they could go back to being
best friends again.

And Kyle, she smiled at the thought, would be pacing around
running his fingers through his shaggy blond hair wondering
why he had done it.

Why he had broken the only girls heart he had ever loved.

And she knew he wouldn't sleep until she came home, but her
anger and saddness welling up towards him just wouldn't let
her do it.

Carissa lived a dream life. Straight A's, rich family,
brothers and sisters who loved her, and a boyfriend who
cared about her more then anything.

She wasn't complaing about life until a few months ago. One
of her sisters had commited suicide after her boyfriend had
passed away in a car accident.

Carissa was the closet to her, it affected her the most
though she never let anyone know that.

She had to be strong willed.

The snow started picking up now. Coming down harder and
faster on the world around, covering it in a thick security
blanket. The moon was starting to fade away under the
clouds. Darkness was overcoming the world.

Her parents had split. Everyone was expecting it though.
Losing a child can be one of the worst experiences of your
life.

This affected your brother greatly. He was close to their
father, them being the only men, yet he wasn't aloud to live
with him.

He got more into drugs, and again another blow was thrown to
her family.

A party a few streets over was just ending and teenagers
everywhere were walking out to their cars drunk. Seemingly
unaware of the 16 year old girl walking down the
street.

The twins became somber and quiet. Not their usual bubbly
selves. They were the ones who cheered everyone up, but now
they were hauled up in their rooms ignoring the world around
them.

It killed her not to have them around for much longer.
Carissa knew they were planning on leaving your falling home
as soon as they could.

Tina Wilson got into her car, drunk and unaware that she
shouldn't be driving, speeding along at 80 miles an hour to
her home on Baltic Street.

A week after her parents split up she needed emotional
support. Her entire family was pretty much gone, so she went
to the only person who she knew would always be there for
her.

Her boyfriend Kyle.

As Carissa was walking to his house her stomach tied in
knots, but still she continued on.

Tina only saw the young girl briefly before hearing a
thump and having to slam on her brakes. Sobering up quickly
she called 9-1-1 to report an accident. A pedestrian was hit
at 10 o'clock at night, walking down Baltic Street.

She walked into the house only to see Kyle with one of the
cheerleaders in school Sarah Parkson.

It killed her, but she started screaming anyway.

Kyle called her a bitch and a slut. Told her she wasn't any
good anyway.

She ran home crying. Trying to get comfort somewhere. She
called her whole family into the living room, her father
there to get some things for his new home, and told them all
that they needed to stick together.

Slowly, somehow, her speach turned to her entire family
screaming. And so she found herself walking along Baltic
Street.

Seemingly unaware that Tina Wilson was speeding towards her
in a Toyota unable to step on the breaks fast enough.

The ambulence arrived quickly as the snow began falling
faster onto the ground. The security blanket growing thicker
as time moved on. Carissa was brought to the hospital where
her now dysfunctional family was called and told the news.

Their youngest child was in a coma because of a speeding
car.

The entire family managed to make it out to the hospital in
one piece. Nerves were shot and tears were shed, but still
they managed to help each other through.

Carissa's father moved back into the house and her parents
got back togehter. Her brother went into rehab for his drug
problem and graduated highschool to go onto UCLA. Her twin
sisters eventually did move, but stayed as close to home as
they could.

Only 3 streets away.

Kyle also graduated highschool two years later. He moved on
to live a very sucessful and happy life. Though not with his
one true love.

And while all of this was happening a young 16 year old
angel stood up in the clouds with her older sister looking
down on her past life, smiling.
