A Battery Hen, by Lunaria
|
battery Hen
'Hey! You human, Let me loose
Let me go. This is abuse
I was born to run, to scratch the earth
To flap my wings and have joy and mirth
Open this cage and let me out now
Or I'll haunt you forever, this I avow
I won't be your egg laying machine
Keeping me cramped up is just plain mean
Lun will get you and throw you in the soup
If you don't let me out of this tiny coop'
'It's Lun to the rescue. In the soup you go
And I'm going to cook you real slow
You battery farmer I will teach thee
To let all animals be happy and free
Now you will suffer for what you have done
I'm cooking you and eating you on a bun'
Lun opens the cage and lets out the hen
And promises her to be caged never again
And causes all battery farmers to agree
To keep all animals happy and free
