Poison Sugar, by bedazzled

Crumpled comfortably in your arms,
Your voice is soft as you speak to me.
You lift my hair back from my face,
I flick it back to where it was.
You rock me like a little child,
While the sun is sponging warmth around.
Golden flickers illuminate your eyes,
The aquamarine now glows with depth.
They trace my face with soft intent,
I meet them and forget to breathe.
You indulge in cheeky suggestion,
We laugh with genuine bells.
Vivid shots of our last encounter alone,
Play teasingly across my mind.
I snapshot that expression on your face,
With an enhanced colour memory.
Feelings cascade in rainbows,
Underscored by silent fear.
What about when this is gone?
But I slip into the present, breathe it.
I have this precious oxygen for now,
Ignoring thoughts of future absence.
