Through the broken and discarded shards of my life, a dog
seals my soul safely away from their sharp edges. As I cry a
dog licks away my tears. As I bleed a dog heals my wounded
heart. As I see my fate, a dog turns night into day, for it
is no longer a fate. As I enter a nightmare, a dog fetches
me a dream. As I starve, a dog brings me the corpse of a
pheasant. As I shiver from the cold, howling wind, a dog
brings me warmth through its warm furry body. As I become a
out cast of humanity, a dog brings me a dog pack to play
with. As I trip, a dog licks my neglected bruises. As I lose
my will to live, a dog creates a dream, for me to chase.
Weather it’s real or not, I do not know. But it’s the
only reason I exist. As I run from humanity, a dog runs with
me.
