Toujours, by bedazzled
|
Icicles of truth froze me in place,
The tears I compress, escaped down my face.
I hid my head in my arms, trying to hide,
But there was no place to run from the daggers inside.
Poisoned with truth I replayed his words,
The silent screams of self-hatred were once again heard.
He wrapped himself around me, tried to explain,
But there was nothing left at all, nothing but pain.
He sat himself next to me, statues on the stairs,
And when he raised his head I noticed his tears.
Such beautiful eyes were never meant for misery,
It was in that moment of forgiveness I realised he loved
me.
He whispered "I'm sorry," and pleaded me not to cry,
"It's okay my baby," I said in reply.
As we kissed away the hurt, chased away the blue,
It was then that I realised that I loved him too.
