MIRROR MIRROR, by FarmGirl

I'M SICK OF LOOKING IN THE MIRROR,
AND HATING WHAT I SEE
I WANT SOMEONE TO LOOK INSIDE,
AND GET TO KNOW THE REAL ME.
HIGH SCHOOL IS ALL ABOUT REPS,
WHOS POPULAR AND WHOS NOT.
NO ONES CARES ABOUT A PERSONS HEART,
UNLESS THEY ARE CLASSIFIED AS HOT!
I TRY TO CHANGE FOR THEM,
AND BE WHO THEY WANT ME TO BE,
BUT IT GETS MY UPSET WHEN I REALIZE,
THE PERSON THEY WANT ME TO BE ISN'T ME.
SOMEDAY SOMEONE WILL SURPRISE ME,
THEY'LL SWEEP ME OFF MY FEET,
BUT I HAVE A FEELING IT WON'T BE SOON
UNTIL ME AND THIS PERSON MEET.
UNTIL THEN I'LL TRY TO SMILE,
AND WIPE AWAY THE TEARS.
I'LL LEARN TO BE WHO I AM,
AND LOVE THE GIRL IN THE MIRROR. |
