Shes Moved On, by FarmGirl
|
I told myself I wouldn’t cry –
But cry I did.
When I got home, I ran to my room
And hid.
She’s sold.
She taught me to gallop,
She taught me to jump,
She made me a rider
When I’d started as a lump,
But now
She’s sold.
I hear people’s voices in my head,
“She’s too stiff” “too small”
“too old” they said.
I knew they were right,
It was time to move on.
She’s sold.

sad. but you seem to have handled it well. I like all of your poems about horses. In a way you have Immortalised your beautiful Horse in your poems. That's a nice tribute to God's Creation & your friend. Glo |
