Press On, Darling, by queen of melodrama
|
My darling child
with a bright little face
a sweet crooked smile
full of charm and grace
your my inspiration
the reason I press thru
when I'd rather give up
I'd just look at you
You've depended on me
every single day
I never minded the price
I've been willing to pay
You never did anythig
to deserve this life
to suffer dissapointments
all this pain and strife
I've tried to protect you
with my heart and my soul
I've given my life
I've paid every toll
But pain has reached you
some how it creept by
its broken your heart
and told you its lies
Just give me your hand
I will help you get free
I'll never let go
We can make it, you'll see
You'll over come this too
and for it you'll be strong
How do you think I have these muscles?
I too have pressed on...

This is a beautiful poem. You seem like a really loving mother. |
